Pre-Autumnal Equinox Foraging / September 20th, 2026

Join George Barnett for a 2.5-hour walk in the woods this September, just two days before the autumn equinox. While under the glowing fall canopy of hickories, black walnuts, and oaks, George will identify and discuss several wild edible foods available during the autumn months. In addition to discussing wild foods, he will also cover some natural history and ecological systems that take place during the autumn season.

*This class is limited to 12 people*

When:

Sunday September 20th, 2026

This class will be starting at 9:00am and ending at 11:30am. If you end up having to depart earlier for whatever reason, please make me aware before you leave our group.

What to bring:

Water bottle, comfortable walking shoes, a notebook & pen, camera, an open mind with a strong interest to learn and ask questions while in a group setting.

Cancellations:
A 30 day advanced noticed for all cancellations is required for a 50% refund. If you cancel within 30 days you will lose out on 100% of your refund. Cancellation due to extreme weather conditions will be determined only when the safety of the attendees are at risk. In these cases, deposits will be refunded or held to reserve rescheduled date(s).

Autumn Foraging / October 18th, 2026

Join George Barnett for a 2.5-hour walk in the woods this October. Kid's Nature Observation Walk / November 21st, 2026

Join George Barnett for a 1-hour walk in the woods this November. During this nature observation walk, George will be interpreting what’s taking place in the woods during a cool November morning to your little ones, including an introduction to tree and plant ID, invasive and toxic plant ID, seasonal changes with plants and animals, and some basic principals of foraging for wild foods (if any are present).

*This class is limited to 14 people, the $20.00 registration cost includes one individual, meaning if you are booking for your child and yourself, you’ll be purchasing two tickets. All attending children must have a guardian present during the entirety of the class.

Saturday November 21st, 2026

This class will be starting at 10:00am and ending at 11:00am. If you end up having to depart earlier for whatever reason (behavior, accidents, etc.) please make me aware before you leave our group.

Join George Barnett for a 2.5-hour walk in the woods this December, just a day prior to the winter solstice. During this class George will discuss various topics such as winter tree and herbaceous plant ID, seasonal wild foods, as well as late autumn-early winter woodland ecology of plants and animals.
